Friedhof St. Marx
St. Marx Cemetery (located here) was founded in 1784 because Emperor Joseph II really disliked the idea of having people buried inside the city walls of Vienna.
A bunch of smaller cemeteries were shut down and their “inhabitants” consequently moved to St. Marx.
In 1874, St. Marx was shut down as well.
The by far most famous person to be buried here is W. A. Mozart.
